A tour of the Laura Plantation was next on our list. Since it was a Creole plantation it is far different than Oak Alley. It is significant for its early 19th century Creole-style raised big house and several surviving outbuildings including 6 slave quarters. Few plantation complexes in Louisiana have so many of the original structures.
