We've come to Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop for a drink mainly so we can see the inside. The shop was built between 1722 and 1732. It is reported to be the oldest structure used as a bar in the United States. Between 1772 and 1791 the property is believed to have been used by the Lafitte Brothers as a base for their smuggling operations.
